They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Malachi Breland, 44 picks early at the Round 5 slot.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Pierce steal is the beam this whole class leans on. With edge rusher, running back and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
