You can hear the double-takes from here. The Bears took Isaac Rex at slot 248, roughly 74 spots before his name belonged. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

Caleb Williams is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

Simpson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
