The Colts bled value on every deal, hence the D.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Colts reached some 49 spots for Evan Anderson, and value like that does not grow back.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The Colts indulged a want in Solomon while a need in quarterback, running back and other spots stayed open.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
