Killian DRAFTING FOR THEColts
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Colts
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Colts a B. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Colts spent the 234th pick on Evan Anderson, a name most had 48 spots down the list.
However the rest shakes out, Sainristil at that price is a win they earned. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In the 15th overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell in pick 46 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick82
Rnd3
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
A straight-up fair deal on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at slot 82, value and slot in agreement. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick117
Rnd4
Mike Sainristil
They barely believed it either: Mike Sainristil still on the board at the Round 4 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick151
Rnd5
Jaheim Bell
They jumped the gun on Jaheim Bell, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick191
Rnd6
Jase McClellan
They paid sticker price for Jase McClellan in Round 6, Pick 16, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick234
Rnd7
Evan Anderson
Evan Anderson in No. 234 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
