The Colts won the night they stopped Melton from sliding. Grade: B-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Max Melton, the No. 63 name on the board, stolen at slot 82. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Nugent has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptor off the edge. A clean fit for the roster.

Pick46 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat

T'Vondre Sweat in Round 2, Pick 14 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

Pick82 Rnd3 Max Melton

Max Melton at pick 82 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.

Pick117 Rnd4 James Williams

By-the-book stuff, James Williams at No. 117 squarely in line with his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.

Pick151 Rnd5 Jacob Cowing

They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jacob Cowing in the 151st pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
