Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Bears.

The Bears went off the board in a big way for Jaylan Ford, 64 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Daniels. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In slot 1 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick4 Rnd1 Joe Alt
In No. 4 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick68 Rnd3 Adonai Mitchell
They jumped the gun on Adonai Mitchell, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick132 Rnd4 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford in the 132nd overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick137 Rnd5 Shilo Sanders
They will replay Shilo Sanders at the 137th pick for years; that is how good the value is. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick141 Rnd5 Jamari Thrash
A straight-up fair deal on Jamari Thrash at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick172 Rnd5 Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron at slot 172 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick178 Rnd6 Mike Sainristil
Steal is underselling it; Mike Sainristil at the 178th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick182 Rnd6 Brevyn Spann-Ford
They took Brevyn Spann-Ford at par in No. 182, which is nothing to complain about. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick225 Rnd7 Jalon Daniels
A quarterback of that caliber at the Round 7 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
