Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Seahawks robbed the room for Mullings. Final grade: D-.

Some picks age like wine; Brady Cook at No. 173 will need to, sitting 104 spots clear of his grade. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

However the rest shakes out, Mullings at that price is a win they earned. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
In the Round 1 slot they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
Tyler Booker at the 34th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick50 Rnd2 Zy Alexander
They went early on Zy Alexander in pick 50, and the value did not follow. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick82 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
A reach for Ozzy Trapilo in slot 82; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick93 Rnd3 Jake Majors
Jake Majors in pick 93 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick137 Rnd4 Nazir Stackhouse
They left a pile of value on the table to take Nazir Stackhouse this early at the 137th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick173 Rnd5 Brady Cook
They talked themselves into Brady Cook at No. 173, and the board did not agree. It fills a real need, too.
Pick212 Rnd6 Ja'Corey Brooks
A premium they did not need to pay, Ja'Corey Brooks a notch or two before his time. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick236 Rnd7 Kalel Mullings
Somehow Kalel Mullings was still sitting there in slot 236, and they pounced on premier running back value. A need, and now a little less of one.
