The Steelers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Xavier Truss, 60 picks early at pick No. 231. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

Getting Hancock where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Taking Savion Williams in the 122nd overall pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.

Ollie Gordon II in Round 5, Pick 24 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.

Somehow Jordan Hancock was still sitting there in slot 225, and they pounced on premier safety value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
