The board owed the Bears one, and it paid up: Cody Simon, the No. 127 name on the board, sitting there at No. 200 like a gift left on the doorstep. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

They will need Griffith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
