Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB FutureB-
The Eagles won the night they stopped Thieneman from sliding. Grade: B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Dillon Thieneman had no business being available in the 91st pick, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

They will need Curry to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Zion Young
In the Round 1 slot they get a problem off the edge, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick54 Rnd2 Gennings Dunker
Good price on Gennings Dunker in the 54th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick68 Rnd3 Caden Curry
Caden Curry at pick No. 68 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick91 Rnd3 Dillon Thieneman
A safety of that caliber at No. 91 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick98 Rnd3 D'Angelo Ponds
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on D'Angelo Ponds. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick122 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
Parker Brailsford at slot 122 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The roster fit checks out.
Pick126 Rnd4 Eli Raridon
Eli Raridon in the 126th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick137 Rnd4 CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels is a better player than pick 137 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick151 Rnd5 Trinidad Chambliss
Trinidad Chambliss at the 151st overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick166 Rnd5 Skyler Gill-Howard
The board fumbled Skyler Gill-Howard all the way to pick 166, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick179 Rnd5 Isaiah Jatta
They reached a country mile for Isaiah Jatta at No. 179, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick201 Rnd6 De'Zhaun Stribling
De'Zhaun Stribling in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
