A weekend the Bengals spent fighting the board, and losing. F.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bengals took Isaac Rex a full 48 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. A F, plain and simple.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Landing Simpson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with linebacker still staring back at them.
