Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall D
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Bengals got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

The Bengals lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want. They are betting Fisher proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Corley.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In slot 10 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick49 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at pick No. 49 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick72 Rnd3 Malachi Corley
Value with a capital V on Malachi Corley in the 72nd pick, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick80 Rnd3 Cade Stover
Nothing to complain about; Cade Stover went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick97 Rnd3 Blake Fisher
A wild overpay on Blake Fisher in the 97th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick115 Rnd4 Tyler Davis
They took Tyler Davis at par in Round 4, Pick 15, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick149 Rnd5 Nehemiah Pritchett
Fair-plus on Nehemiah Pritchett, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
