The Broncos finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D.

The Broncos lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

With linebacker, running back and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. Stogner falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
