Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers let Jackson fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Khyree Jackson had no business being available in No. 125, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Nate Wiggins
In the 25th pick they get a sticky cover corner, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
A straight-up fair deal on Chop Robinson at pick No. 41, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick57 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
They did well to land Kingsley Suamataia in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick88 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
They took Zak Zinter at par in No. 88, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick92 Rnd3 Bucky Irving
Bucky Irving in pick 92 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick125 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
They robbed the room for Khyree Jackson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick135 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at Round 4, Pick 35 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick203 Rnd6 JD Bertrand
Value with a capital V on JD Bertrand in slot 203, a genuine coup. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick217 Rnd6 David Ugwoegbu
David Ugwoegbu at pick 217 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
Pick219 Rnd6 Darius Muasau
Good price on Darius Muasau in the 219th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick246 Rnd7 Carson Steele
No drama and no debate, Carson Steele went about where he belonged in No. 246. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
