Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesC+ FutureB
The Cardinals cashed the board's mistake on Legette: B.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Xavier Legette, No. 66, roughly 30 picks past where he belonged. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In No. 4 they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick27 Rnd1 Jer'Zhan Newton
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Troy Fautanu
A reasonable price with a little left over, Troy Fautanu in slot 35. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick66 Rnd3 Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette in pick 66 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick71 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cooper Beebe. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick105 Rnd4 Leonard Taylor III
By-the-book stuff, Leonard Taylor III at the Round 4 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick122 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson at pick No. 122 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
