Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureA+
The Seahawks drew a line under the quarterback search with Penix Jr.: D+. Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Seahawks, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
Michael Penix Jr. gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The cost of the Cooper reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and running back is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Michael Penix Jr.
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick17
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In the 17th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick22
Rnd1
JT Tuimoloau
In No. 22 they get a premier pass rusher, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
This one needs a full-page explanation: Edgerrin Cooper in the Round 2 slot, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick81
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in the 81st pick is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick96
Rnd3
Leonard Taylor III
A real head-scratcher, Leonard Taylor III in pick No. 96 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick154
Rnd5
Isaiah Adams
You do not let an offensive lineman like Isaiah Adams reach slot 154 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick194
Rnd6
Michael Barrett
They paid sticker price for Michael Barrett in pick 194, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick211
Rnd6
Moose Muhammad III
Moose Muhammad III at pick 211 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick236
Rnd7
Ethan Driskell
Ethan Driskell at slot 236 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick237
Rnd7
Sam Hartman
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 7 slot with a little surplus value in Sam Hartman. A need, and now a little less of one.
