Antoine Winfield Jr. was born on August 16, 1998 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of 14-year NFL cornerback Antoine Winfield Sr. He was a unanimous All-American at Minnesota in 2019, and Tampa Bay drafted him in the second round, 45th overall, in 2020. He started all 16 games as a rookie, and Madden NFL 21 rated him 75 for that 2020 season.
Winfield started Super Bowl LV on February 7, 2021 and intercepted Patrick Mahomes in a 31-9 win over Kansas City. He was added to the Pro Bowl as an injury replacement after the 2021 season, and Madden NFL 22 rated him 83 for that season. In 2023 he recorded 122 tackles, six sacks, three interceptions and six forced fumbles, co-led the NFL in forced fumbles and was named first-team All-Pro. Madden NFL 24 rated him 87 for that 2023 season.
Tampa Bay placed the franchise tag on him in March 2024, then signed him to a four-year, $84.1 million extension on May 13, 2024, the largest contract given to a defensive back at the time. An ankle injury limited him to nine games that season, and Madden NFL 25 rated him 94 for 2024. He started all 17 games in 2025 and recorded 93 tackles, two interceptions and one sack. He was selected to his second Pro Bowl for that season.
