Draft Profile: Bio
Football runs deep on both sides of the Daley family. His father Neal played linebacker at BYU, his brother Michael lines up at defensive end for Rice, and his uncles include former BYU players David Nixon, Craig Bills, and Taysom Hill. A three-star recruit out of Lone Peak High ranked the No. 9 prospect in Utah by 247Sports, he piled up 22 sacks and 82 tackles as a senior and earned All-State first-team honors. He signed with BYU, served a two-year mission in Brazil, then played three games for the Cougars in 2023.A transfer to Utah followed, and after waiting behind Logan Fano and Van Fillinger in 2024 with just a handful of meaningful snaps, he won the starting edge job opposite Fano in 2025. The breakout arrived fast. Through 11 games he posted 48 tackles, 17.5 TFL, 11.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a pass breakup, leading the FBS in TFL and sitting second nationally in sacks when he went down.
The honors stacked up: Walter Camp First Team All-America, AP Second Team, All-Big 12 First Team, Chuck Bednarik semifinalist, Lott IMPACT quarterfinalist. A non-contact Achilles rupture against Kansas State in late November ended the year. He entered the transfer portal and followed Kyle Whittingham to Michigan.

Daley turned in one of the most productive pass-rush seasons in this class, with ten sacks and fifty-one pressures and a pass rush that overwhelmed tackles, before an Achilles tear ended his year. On tape he bends the corner, converts speed to power with a clean rip, and finishes, with an eight-pressure game at Baylor and a two-sack, seven-pressure opener against UCLA. He also set a firm edge against the run for a lighter player, which rounds out the profile beyond pure rush.The injury is the entire conversation now. He ruptured his Achilles late in the season, and the recovery timeline clouds how much of the explosion comes back, which is the swing factor on the whole evaluation. He is light at 247 pounds for holding up against NFL power on early downs, and he missed seven tackles, a finish detail worth monitoring once he is whole. The talent is top-shelf; The medical is the question.
Healthy, he rushes the passer at a Day 2 level with the bend and production to start early off the edge. The Achilles and the frame are the limiters, and a clean medical is the gate the grade has to pass through. Draft him on the tape and the trajectory, accept the rehab risk, and the upside is a difference-making edge whose only real flaw was bad luck.
