Larceny in pick No. 190 lands the Saints a B-, Jackson and all.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Domani Jackson got past him. The Saints do not have to explain a thing at pick 190. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In No. 16 they get a green-dot type in the middle, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
Pick42 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
Fair-plus on Emmanuel Pregnon, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick44 Rnd2 Zion Young
They took Zion Young at par in pick 44, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick132 Rnd4 CJ Daniels
No edge and no loss on CJ Daniels in the 132nd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick136 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Kilgore at Round 4, Pick 36 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick150 Rnd5 Tim Keenan III
Tim Keenan III at pick No. 150 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick172 Rnd5 Jalen Stroman
Jalen Stroman in slot 172 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick190 Rnd6 Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson in the Round 6 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
