Nobody else had Patrick Payton anywhere near the Round 5 slot. The Chiefs did, by 76 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

The offensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That is a tight end worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
