Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Dolphins: B-.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Riley Nowakowski; the Dolphins did not wait, grabbing him 35 spots ahead at slot 238. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Johnson steal is the beam this whole class leans on. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get an anchor for the offensive line, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
Pick30 Rnd1 Max Iheanachor
They paid a round early for Max Iheanachor in the Round 1 slot, more than the board wanted. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick43 Rnd2 Chris Johnson
Nice patience on Chris Johnson, who had no business lasting to pick 43. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick75 Rnd3 Elijah Sarratt
A straight-up fair deal on Elijah Sarratt at pick No. 75, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick87 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
They paid sticker price for Zakee Wheatley in the 87th overall pick, and that is fine. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick90 Rnd3 Keylan Rutledge
Keylan Rutledge at the 90th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick94 Rnd3 Caden Curry
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Caden Curry. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick130 Rnd4 CJ Daniels
No edge and no loss on CJ Daniels in the 130th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick151 Rnd5 Louis Moore
Louis Moore in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick227 Rnd7 Aiden Fisher
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Aiden Fisher. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick238 Rnd7 Riley Nowakowski
Riley Nowakowski at Round 7, Pick 22 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
