The Steelers answered their biggest question with Beck. Grade: C+.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Steelers took Chase Roberts a full 104 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. It nets out a thoroughly average C+.

However the rest shakes out, Abney II at that price is a win they earned. Carson Beck gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They will answer for taking offensive lineman early while interior defensive lineman, edge rusher and other spots went begging.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

A real head-scratcher, Bishop Fitzgerald in the 85th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
