Somebody in pick 169 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while Cam Skattebo, the No. 105 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 4 of 9 of the wish list covered. The Zaire Franklin pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
They barely believed it either: Jalon Walker still on the board at the 64th pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Circle this one: Harold Fannin Jr. at slot 96 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A safety of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Dylan Fairchild in pick 129 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They robbed the room for Jake Majors here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Somehow Ryan Fitzgerald was still sitting there in pick No. 167, and they pounced on premier specialist value. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Cam Skattebo at Round 5, Pick 32 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
