Maye is the plan now, and the Patriots grade out a B-.

The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on Drake Maye, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

Cowing has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
