Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall

FutureA-
The Vikings let Lew fall and pounced. Final grade: B-. When a board-topper like Connor Lew slides to Round 3, Pick 33, you do not overthink it, and the Vikings did not. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick49
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman is a better player than the 49th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick62
Rnd2
Lee Hunter
Nice patience on Lee Hunter, who had no business lasting to No. 62. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick82
Rnd3
Jake Golday
Jake Golday in pick No. 82 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick97
Rnd3
Connor Lew
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Connor Lew in slot 97, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick108
Rnd4
Michael Trigg
No edge and no loss on Michael Trigg in pick 108; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick168
Rnd5
Seth McGowan
No drama and no debate, Seth McGowan went about where he belonged in the 168th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick196
Rnd6
Ted Hurst
Somehow Ted Hurst was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 15, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick234
Rnd7
Thaddeus Dixon
They barely believed it either: Thaddeus Dixon still on the board at the Round 7 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick235
Rnd7
Jeff Caldwell
A tidy bit of business in pick 235, where Jeff Caldwell graded well above the range. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick244
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in No. 244 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
