Draft Grade — Jets
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB- TradesA+ FutureA+
Nobody dealt better than the Jets this weekend: A-.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Jets came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

Spending an early pick on linebacker with edge rusher open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Getting Wagner where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. If Foster pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 12th overall pick they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick16 Rnd1 Sonny Styles
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending slot 16 on Sonny Styles with edge rusher unsolved.
Pick20 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In pick 20 they get a home-run threat at receiver, and a steal at that.
Pick44 Rnd2 Brandon Cisse
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Brandon Cisse at the Round 2 slot is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick47 Rnd2 Christen Miller
They let Christen Miller come to them and pounced at the 47th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick103 Rnd4 Bud Clark
Good price on Bud Clark in No. 103, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick112 Rnd4 Nicholas Singleton
Value with a capital V on Nicholas Singleton in Round 4, Pick 12, a genuine coup. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick140 Rnd4 Drew Allar
No drama and no debate, Drew Allar went about where he belonged in pick No. 140. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick179 Rnd5 Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner in the Round 5 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick194 Rnd6 Ephesians Prysock
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ephesians Prysock in pick 194. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick208 Rnd6 Toriano Pride Jr.
They paid sticker price for Toriano Pride Jr. in slot 208, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick218 Rnd7 Zxavian Harris
They took Zxavian Harris at par in pick No. 218, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick242 Rnd7 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster at the 242nd overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
