FutureB
Nobody dealt better than the Dolphins this weekend: B+. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Dolphins reached some 83 spots for Jalon Daniels, and value like that does not grow back.
The Stowers value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In slot 11 they get a three-down runner at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick49
Rnd2
Caleb Banks
Caleb Banks at No. 49 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick75
Rnd3
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Circle this one: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at Round 3, Pick 11 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick87
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Somehow Eli Stowers was still sitting there in the 87th pick, and they pounced on premier tight end value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick111
Rnd4
Chandler Rivers
They will replay Chandler Rivers at the 111th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick113
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
A reach for Bryce Lance in the Round 4 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick118
Rnd4
J.C. Davis
They liked J.C. Davis enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 118. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick128
Rnd4
Nadame Tucker
Nadame Tucker at the Round 4 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick151
Rnd5
Jalon Daniels
Value said wait; Jalon Daniels in pick No. 151 says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick163
Rnd5
Aaron Graves
This one needs a full-page explanation: Aaron Graves in Round 5, Pick 23, miles early. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick168
Rnd5
Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa at No. 168 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick188
Rnd6
Aamil Wagner
They robbed the room for Aamil Wagner here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick196
Rnd6
Ephesians Prysock
Ephesians Prysock is a better player than slot 196 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick227
Rnd7
Aiden Fisher
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Aiden Fisher. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
