Draft Grade — Saints
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Saints.

Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Saints never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

If Allar pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The Prysock value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The back end got a real overhaul.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Caleb Downs
In pick 8 they get a centerfielder for the defense. Need was not the driver here.
Pick42 Rnd2 Lee Hunter
By-the-book stuff, Lee Hunter at Round 2, Pick 10 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick73 Rnd3 Skyler Bell
Skyler Bell at the 73rd pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick132 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
Parker Brailsford is a better player than slot 132 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick136 Rnd4 Drew Allar
Drew Allar at the Round 4 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick150 Rnd5 Jaeden Roberts
Fair-plus on Jaeden Roberts, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick172 Rnd5 Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner in the 172nd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick190 Rnd6 Ephesians Prysock
Ephesians Prysock slipping to No. 190 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
