Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B-
ValueC- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Cowboys, and a B- to prove it.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but T.J. Sanders at slot 130 is 50 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

The Clark pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Jonathon Brooks
Value said wait; Jonathon Brooks in pick 30 says they were not listening. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick62 Rnd2 Brian Thomas Jr.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Brian Thomas Jr. in No. 62. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick93 Rnd3 Tate Ratledge
They reached a country mile for Tate Ratledge at the Round 3 slot, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick130 Rnd4 T.J. Sanders
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for T.J. Sanders. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick174 Rnd5 Keith Randolph Jr.
A big swing on Keith Randolph Jr. at Round 5, Pick 38, well ahead of any board in the building. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick212 Rnd6 Francisco Mauigoa
A reach for Francisco Mauigoa in the 212th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick251 Rnd7 De'Corian Clark
Circle this one: De'Corian Clark at slot 251 is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
