The rest of the league will want that one back. TreVeyon Henderson tumbling to the Eagles in slot 159 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th overall pick they get a sticky cover corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
You do not let a wide receiver like Tetairoa McMillan reach the Round 2 slot and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tight end of that caliber at the 92nd pick is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Taking Ajani Cornelius in Round 4, Pick 31 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Danny Stutsman in pick 155, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
The board fumbled TreVeyon Henderson all the way to slot 159, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
Steal is underselling it; Oronde Gadsden II at pick No. 163 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
