FutureB-
The Cowboys fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B. The Cowboys put a flag in the ground for Mason Reiger, 80 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Thieneman.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
In pick 12 they get a press-man option on the boundary. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
A slide stopped in the 43rd pick, with Dillon Thieneman worth more than the price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick112
Rnd4
Mason Reiger
Mason Reiger at pick No. 112 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick127
Rnd4
Red Murdock
They reached a country mile for Red Murdock at slot 127, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick133
Rnd4
Albert Regis
They reached into another round for Albert Regis, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick152
Rnd5
Louis Moore
Louis Moore at Round 5, Pick 12 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick177
Rnd5
Pat Coogan
A premium they did not need to pay, Pat Coogan a notch or two before his time. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick180
Rnd5
Trey Moore
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Trey Moore. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick218
Rnd7
Kendrick Law
Kendrick Law at No. 218 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
