Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Patriots spent slot 34 on Brenden Rice, a name the board had a full 37 spots lower.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Thomas.

The Justin Fields pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
