Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles cashed the board's mistake on Starks: B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Malaki Starks got past him. The Eagles do not have to explain a thing at the 96th overall pick. The bottom line is a respectable B.

For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Every board in the league had Barrow Jr. lower, and that gap is the story.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 24
In slot 32 they get a difference-maker at receiver, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Jalon Walker · LB · rank 20
Jalon Walker in pick 64 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R3.32 · Pick 96 · Malaki Starks · S · rank 12
The board fumbled Malaki Starks all the way to the 96th pick, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.28 · Pick 129 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 55
Steal is underselling it; TreVeyon Henderson at No. 129 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.23 · Pick 162 · Jake Majors · C · rank 107
Jake Majors in the 162nd overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
R5.27 · Pick 166 · Smael Mondon Jr. · LB · rank 110
They robbed the room for Smael Mondon Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R5.30 · Pick 169 · Simeon Barrow Jr. · DL · rank 178
The board had cheaper options than Simeon Barrow Jr. at the Round 5 slot, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
