The Vikings did not so much draft Jack Velling as overpay for him, 47 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

The Muhammad steal is the beam this whole class leans on. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will answer for taking cornerback early while quarterback, edge rusher and other spots went begging.

Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
