Minnesota Vikings

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Vikings and Skattebo: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Vikings were there to profit. Cam Skattebo, the No. 105 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 5 slot. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R3.33 · Pick 97 · Dylan Fairchild · OG · rank 94
Dylan Fairchild in the 97th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.1 · Pick 140 · Cam Skattebo · RB · rank 105
The board fumbled Cam Skattebo all the way to pick No. 140, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
R5.15 · Pick 154 · Joshua Farmer · DT · rank 123
Joshua Farmer in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
R5.22 · Pick 161 · Jackson Slater · OG · rank 150
A tidy bit of business in slot 161, where Jackson Slater graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
