Somebody in pick No. 169 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while Jordan Phillips, the No. 112 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Every board in the league had Jackson lower, and that gap is the story. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a problem off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Donovan Jackson at No. 64 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A tidy little value on Dylan Fairchild in Round 3, Pick 33, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Circle this one: Jermari Harris at the 129th pick is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Somehow Oronde Gadsden II was still sitting there in pick 162, and they pounced on premier tight end value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They robbed the room for Kyren Lacy here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Jordan Phillips in the 169th overall pick, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
