Grand theft in Round 7, Pick 40: the Broncos steal Caldwell and grade out a B.

Somebody in the Round 7 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Broncos sat still while Jeff Caldwell, the No. 217 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They will need Graves to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
