Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B

Grand theft in pick No. 145: the Giants steal Beck and grade out a B.

Somebody in the Round 5 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while Carson Beck, the No. 112 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Francis Mauigoa
In pick 5 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick37 Rnd2 Chris Bell
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Chris Bell. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick105 Rnd4 Malik Muhammad
They read the board right and Malik Muhammad was the payoff at slot 105. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick145 Rnd5 Carson Beck
Carson Beck at No. 145 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick186 Rnd6 J'Mari Taylor
J'Mari Taylor at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick192 Rnd6 Harrison Wallace III
Harrison Wallace III in the 192nd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick193 Rnd6 Quintayvious Hutchins
By-the-book stuff, Quintayvious Hutchins at pick No. 193 squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
