Nobody else had Toriano Pride Jr. anywhere near pick No. 171. The Patriots did, by 35 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Delp pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
