FutureB-
The 49ers kept it disciplined and banked a B. For all the boxes ticked, the 49ers skipped the loudest one: running back is exactly as bare as it was. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The cost of the Curry reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They banked enough surplus on Lew to cover a lot of smaller sins.
Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Kayden McDonald
In No. 27 they get a wrecking ball inside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick58
Rnd2
Germie Bernard
Germie Bernard in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick78
Rnd3
Connor Lew
The board had Connor Lew higher than the 78th overall pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick92
Rnd3
Caden Curry
A reach for Caden Curry in pick 92; a little patience would have been rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
Pick127
Rnd4
J.C. Davis
Fair-plus on J.C. Davis, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick133
Rnd4
Eli Raridon
Eli Raridon slid further than he should have, and slot 133 is lovely value for the tight end. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
