A costly weekend of dealing drags the 49ers to a D-.

The war room fell hard for Eric Gentry, and it showed at pick 171: 100 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The Jackson pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback still on the board.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
