The Vikings looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Justin Walley at the Round 5 slot regardless, 123 picks early. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
However the rest shakes out, Jeanty at that price is a win they earned. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a lead back with juice, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
A premium they did not need to pay, Luke Kandra a notch or two before his time. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reach on Hayden Conner in pick 138; the board had better options right there. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A real head-scratcher, Justin Walley in slot 159 is miles ahead of his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
