FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B. The one they had to fix is still broken. The 49ers left running back untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Every board in the league had Ioane lower, and that gap is the story. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Slaughter.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In pick No. 27 they get a blindside protector, though they paid up to get him. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick62
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
Nice patience on Jake Slaughter, who had no business lasting to the 62nd pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick92
Rnd3
Darrell Jackson Jr.
Darrell Jackson Jr. at No. 92 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick101
Rnd4
Caden Curry
By-the-book stuff, Caden Curry at slot 101 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick105
Rnd4
Jack Endries
They did well to land Jack Endries in Round 4, Pick 5, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick114
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
No edge and no loss on Bryce Lance in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
