There is conviction, and then there is this. The 49ers took Jaishawn Barham a full 23 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Getting Ioane where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.
