This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kalel Mullings, the No. 104 name on the board, stolen at pick 159. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 24 they get a centerpiece for the ground game, outstanding value to boot.
In pick No. 32 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Andrew Mukuba in the 97th overall pick, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
You do not let a safety like Kevin Winston Jr. reach the Round 5 slot and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Kalel Mullings at Round 5, Pick 22 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
