The 49ers let Slaughter fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Jake Slaughter at slot 94 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Spending an early pick on cornerback with wide receiver, interior defensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The 49ers paired the rookies with proven help, Brian Thomas Jr. leading the way.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
