GATA 45 DRAFTING FOR THETitans
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Larceny in the 144th pick lands the Titans a B, Branch and all. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Zachariah Branch got past him. The Titans do not have to explain a thing at pick 144.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Igbinosun lower, and that gap is the story.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
They paid sticker price for Jeremiyah Love in the 4th overall pick, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick35
Rnd2
Chris Brazzell II
A tidy little value on Chris Brazzell II in pick No. 35, a step better than break-even. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick66
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at pick 66 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick101
Rnd4
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at the Round 4 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick142
Rnd5
Connor Lew
Connor Lew in Round 5, Pick 2 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick144
Rnd5
Zachariah Branch
A wide receiver of that caliber at slot 144 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick184
Rnd6
VJ Payne
A straight-up fair deal on VJ Payne at No. 184, value and slot in agreement. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick194
Rnd6
Kaytron Allen
Taking Kaytron Allen in the 194th pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick225
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
They reached into another round for Trey Zuhn III, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
