When a board-topper like Eli Stowers slides to Round 4, Pick 8, you do not overthink it, and the 49ers did not. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

Reaching for Nwankpa left real value on the table behind him. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.

It is not that Kilgore is a bad player; it is that the 49ers had louder needs to answer first. The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
