The Buccaneers let Muhammad fall and pounced. Final grade: B. Whoever sat across the table from the Buccaneers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. That Muhammad pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick46
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
Anthony Hill Jr. is a better player than Round 2, Pick 14 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick67
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
A slide stopped in slot 67, with Eli Stowers worth more than the price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick116
Rnd4
Malik Muhammad
The board fumbled Malik Muhammad all the way to pick 116, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick155
Rnd5
Reggie Virgil
No drama and no debate, Reggie Virgil went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick195
Rnd6
Aaron Graves
Aaron Graves at the 195th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick229
Rnd7
Jeff Caldwell
Jeff Caldwell at pick No. 229 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
