The Eagles did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Dominic Zvada fell into the 256th overall pick. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. If Stewart pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
A conviction pick on Josaiah Stewart at the 31st pick that the board grades a round light. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 67 with a little surplus value in Zy Alexander. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Steal is underselling it; Gunnar Helm at pick 120 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
A linebacker of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 27 is the definition of value, full stop. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaeden Roberts at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Sebastian Castro at the 164th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
They will replay Quinshon Judkins at No. 187 for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Ricky White III at slot 195 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
You do not let a specialist like Dominic Zvada reach pick 256 and blink. They did not. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
